The paintball gun

A Paintball Gun - Can Make Or Break You on The Field

Some might be a little full of arrogance and feel that it is not the paintball gun that gives you the edge on the paintball field. While there is some truth in this thought the simple fact remains that if you have even the slightest amount of experience someone that is carrying a semi-automatic gun is probably going to have an edge over a more experienced player with a pump action gun.

The fact that the gun is only half the battle (no pun intended) shows that you do need skill but if you are using an inadequate gun you are not going to be very successful against other skilled players that have advanced weaponry. A paintball gun can only do so much because you have to aim it and fire before you are gunned down.

Many people who are unaware of what goes into playing paintball might think if they have the best gun available they will have a chance against more experienced players. This could not be farther from the truth.

Paintballing is a sport like any other sport and while the equipment can help aid you in being a better player, you need skill, talent and experience that does not come from holding the greatest gun ever made. However, on the other side of the coin if you are playing with a majority of skilled players a weak gun is going to do nothing but give you a very long day.

A paintball gun is just one of the necessary elements in succeeding in this sport and you must not give it too much credit or take too much away from it. Everything that goes into being successful on the paintball guns dungeon is the same things that make up the success of any other team sport.

While having a good paintball gun can give you confidence in your ability and presence it will do nothing for you if you do not know how to use it. Many of the “big-shot” paintball guns that are available come with many upgrades and custom parts so if you are inexperienced as to what these extras can do for you, having them are obsolete.

Paintballing is very complicated and will take a while to gain a firm grip of understanding. As with anything though, something that is worth doing is not easy to do and walking onto a paintball field for the first time and being the best player in the game is probably not going to happen, no matter what gun you are holding.

While the issue of the effectiveness of a paintball gun can go in circles forever it is the one true element that can make or break you on the field. If you don’t have a gun there is not much sense in playing, right? However, there should not be too much emphasis put on what kind of gun you have. As long as you have a durable gun that has accuracy and fires paintballs you should be able to hang in there even if most of the other players are more experienced.
